About The Name "LIVYATAN"
"LIVYATAN "is Guy Etgar's Psytrance project and stage name. The word means both in Hebrew and English "Grate whale" .In the old testament it was also used to describe other great sea creatures. According to some mythologies livyatan is a sea monster somewhat like a dragon that is one of god's manifestation which dominates the sea.
One prophase even uses a strange metaphor claiming that the skin of livyatan will provide shelter and peace to the people in the future. Until this day it is not clear what entity Livyatan describes in that prophase, is it political personal or mystical.
For me LIVYATAN is that great sea mammal that projects peacefulness and might at the same time and arouse wander in its hybride existence and musical language. The Livyatan lives in the sea but has to breath air, scientists says that in some past evolution stage it was living on land!
I Chose this name because it contain several important values and meanings for me - Nature, The Sea, Sound, Mystery and Might.
Beside, it's a very psychedelic creature. The fact that the word has a meaning both in my native language (Hebrew) and english made the choice much easier.
